Our process

How we run a renovation in Bundaberg, from first call to handover.

Most renovation problems come from one cause: several trades, and nobody responsible for the whole project. We run every renovation as a single project, with one team accountable for it. This is how it works.

The five stages

  1. 1. Enquiry

Call us, or send photos and a short description through the quote form. We reply within one business day, ask what you would like to change, and arrange a time to visit.

    a site visit booked.

  2. 2. Site visit

We measure the room, check the plumbing, electrical and structure, and talk through what you have in mind. We will tell you what is practical, and where a simpler option would achieve the same result.

    an agreed scope to price.

  3. 3. Written scope and fixed price

You receive a written scope and a fixed price. It sets out what is included, what is not, and what would change the price. When you are ready to proceed, we prepare a written contract that meets Queensland requirements.

a fixed price and a contract to review.

  4. 4. The build

Our site manager runs the project. We book and manage every licensed trade, keep the site clean each day, and tell you before anything changes. Nothing is varied without your written approval.

a completed room, ready to inspect.

  5. 5. Handover

We walk through the finished work with you. Anything that is not right is corrected before we consider the project complete. You receive the certificates for the bathroom waterproofing and the licensed trade work.

a finished renovation, and the paperwork that goes with it.

What happens if something unexpected is found?

Older homes can hide problems behind walls and under floors. If we uncover something that affects the scope, we stop work in that area and tell you the same day. We explain the options and the cost of each, and we proceed only once you have approved the change in writing.

How do I check a builder's licence in Queensland?

Search the builder's name or licence number on the QBCC's online licence register (opens in a new tab). It shows whether the licence is current, the class of work it covers, and any history recorded against it. We recommend checking every builder you are considering before you sign a contract.
